This publication was the result of an initiative within the Standing Conference of Heads of Schools of Architecture (SCHOSA) to explore the engagement activities amongst their members across the UK.It forms a guide to the scope and variety of work within a number of architectural institutions that engages with diverse cultures and contexts. This is work that asks students to bridge between their responsibilities as caring citizens and emergent professionals. As such it is an argument for schools of architecture to engage with the society they are a part of and that they serve, and to support students in building upon their personal values to shape their careers and the future of architectural practice
