The changing face of students : meeting language, academic, and social needs of recent immigrant youth

Relocation across national borders poses unique challenges and possibilities to newcomer immigrant students. As they enter new schools, newcomer students face a number of challenges in their adjustment. School districts across the country have developed special schools or programs designed to meet their language, academic, and social needs.
