Essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (MF) are myeloproliferative neoplasms characterized by the overproduction of mature cells such as platelets (ET) or early bone marrow fibrosis due to scarring induced by highly proliferating myeloid progenitors and pathological stimulation of local fibroblasts (MF).
