The development of drama in German opera

The main idea of this thesis is to describe the development of german romantic opera focusing on the significant evolution of its drama, in the musical, textual and finally the interpretative aspects. A selection from their artworks (with regard to the main topic of thesis) was difficult and highly subjective. They have created a lot of outstanding feminine roles, so I chose five heroines that have served me as individual milestones along the way for almost a century. They have provided me with a suitable structure to map artistic maturation and the development of new, original and completely unique operatic form
