This thesis describes general formation of the river terrace system, river terrace system of the Brno region and it's comparing the various systems that have been created. Also describes development of the river network in Brno agglomeration and its influence on the urban development and the urban development in selected river terraces and their current use. It also mentions the importance of integrating the river flows into the urban landscape
