Principles of screenwriting and their application

This thesis is mainly focused on the principles of storytelling through film that can be adapted into screenplay. It acquaints one with the paradigm of dramatic construction along with attributes of the plot points. The paper defines character creation process, including various methods of bringing those characters to life. Furthermore, it touches upon the subject of the fundamental screenwriting rules. Theoretical knowledge is applied to developing a screenplay for a short film which shows how that knowledge can confront reality
