Contemporary prosaic folklore in Nymburk district after 1945.

The aim of this thesis is to conduct complex research of orally transmitted genres of modern folklore in the area of the Nymburk district. Importance of contemporary legends (urban legends) and rumours is stressed in this work. The author is trying to find an influence of international narratives on those actually collected during his research in the smalltown and rural areas. On the other hand, there could be an examples of original and unique narratives that could be found only in area of the Nymburk district. Main hypothesis of the thesis is to find out whether Czech oral narratives from big cities differ from those of rural and smalltown areas, and whether some kinds of these stories can survive only in one of those areas. Study also focus on who from local society is mostly spreading such narratives
