Healthy siblings of children with physical disease (focused on oncological disease)

This thesis is dealing with up to now greatly neglect topic of healthy siblings of children with oncological disease. It is indicative of hard adaptation to this diagnosis not only for patient and his parents but also for his sibling. The aim of the theoretical part is an exploration of mainly foreign literature about this topic and summarize its present information. The first chapter is focused on demands of oncological disease and its impact on family life. Next chapters are engaged in specific problems of healthy sibling resulting from oncological disease in family and their potential negative results or benefits. Also it is outlined how the adaptation of a sibling of an ill child is contingent and how it is posibble to make it easier. The aim of the research project in the practical part is an exploration of psychosocial function and perception of oncological disease in family of healthy adolescent siblings in Czech population.
