From reverie to nature. Analysis of The Tree of Life imagery

The following bachelor's thesis discusses nature in the films of the renowned American director, screenwriter and producer Terrence Malick. The thesis analyzes Malick's work with regard to the director's own relationship to nature, which makes it fundamentally different from other works with a similar focus. The work is divided into two interrelated parts. The first part is a detailed biographical account of Malick's life with special emphasis on the events and works that are significantly connected with the main theme of the thesis. The second part deals with the relationship of Malick's characters to nature and at the same time gives a comprehensive picture of how Malick conceptualize the nature itself
