The bachelor's thesis focuses on the non-marked and marked expressions of the titles in today's serious and tabloid press. It classifies composition of the newspaper titles, describes procedures used for informing and convincing the recipients and, on the basis of gained knowledge, establishes differences between the headlines in serious and tabloid press in particularly in terms of non-marked and marked expressions. To analyze the observed phenomena and to compare mutual qualities, a title corpus consisting of two Czech journals: Lidové noviny newspaper representing reputable printing and Blesk representing the tabloids was created.
