Economic and social life in Valašské Meziříčí in years 1939-1945

(anglicky): The bachelor thesis describes the economic and the social life in a Moravian town called Valašské Meziříčí during the years 1939 - 1945, which became a border town of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in those years. The thesis is divided into chapters, each of which is focused on a specific theme of the economic and the social life. The problem so-called the substitute existence for inhabitants, who found the asylum at the turn of the year 1938 there, is involved as well as the issues of education, culture, commercial constructions, industrial business and the Jewish question. Also discussed is the topic of the local resistance dividing into two stages - the organised resistance and the guerrilla resistance. The bachelor thesis analyzes the effect of political systems in 1938 - 1945 on the urban life in Valašské Meziříčí in the social and the economic sector. These changes in that period influenced the lifestyle of all groups of residents who lived, studied and worked there. In the thesis all available sources of information were used, mainly archival materials from Státní okresní archiv in Vsetín and Zemský archiv in Opava.
