Theory of Second-order Elections at the Regional Level in the Czech Republic

The research aim of bachelor thesis Theory of second-order elections applied on regional governments elections in the Czech republic is to verify the validity of the theory of second-order elections on regional governments elections in the Czech republic. The first part of this thesis attends to origin and research of theories of second-order elections. The research of this theory was started by Karlheinz Reif and Hermann Schmidt by the analysis of European Parliament elections which took place in 1979. The second part of the work analyzes the duration and results of the Czech Parliamentary elections in 2010 and elections to regional governments in 2012 in terms of second-order election theory. Final chapter replies to the research issues on the basis of comparison of obtained results
