Eating Disorders and Their Influence on Motherhood

Poruchy příjmu potravy a jejich vliv na mateřství Eating Disorders and Their Influence on Motherhood Marie Vavrušková The aim of my thesis was to focus on eating disorders during pregnancy and maternity. To find out how the reproductive system of mothers with ED works, what the pre- labor and post-partum complications may be, what the origins of their disorder may have been and finally, what the appropriate diet and therapy during pregnancy and maternity may be. The work on the thesis showed me a new point of view of eating disorders during pregnancy and maternity, especially thanks to three anonymous interviews with mothers with ED and one casuistry. The interviews and casuistry allowed me to look into the privacy of mothers with ED and answer frequently asked questions. They also hleped me understand that everything has a definite origin and also consequences. The most important thing is to have support from family and friends and choose the best therapy that the patient will be satisfied with
