The work contains justification of occupational therapy application in addition treatment. The theoretical part is devided to the two points. The part which deals with the addiction defines the main attributes of addiction, cause of addiction and addiction kinds. It defines in the organization of care for persons with addiction the treatment program for this target group with an emphasis on medium-term inpatient treatment, mentions phase of this treatment, concepts such as detoxification, dual diagnosis and combined therapy. It sets occupational therapy as part of treatment for people with addiction. The theoretical part is defined occupational therapy, defined its objectives, target groups, forms, techniques and describes the formation of the occupational therapy programme. The practical part is to specify the treatment of people with addiction at a particular facility with emphasis to the use of occupational therapy in this treatment.
