This bachelor thesis is focused on the elderly education, especially the motivation of older people to participate in educational activities. The paper consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with an overview of basic knowledge about the issue with the use of literature both domestic and foreign authors. The second, practical part contains a description of own empirical survey. The aim of the survey is to identify the main reasons for seniors to participate in organized interest-based education, fractional goal is to detect the most common barriers, obstacles to such participation.
