Preparation of β-cyclodextrin derivatives usable for self-assembly on gold surface

This bachelor thesis deals with the preparation of β-cyclodextrin derivatives which can be attached on gold surface via methylsulfanyl groups. The thesis particularly deals with the preparation and characterization of per-6-deoxy-per-6-methylsulfanyl-β-cyclodextrin and 2I - O, 3I -O regioisomers of its monopropargyl derivatives obtained by alkylation with propargyl bromide (3-bromoprop-1-in) and subsequent peracetylation.
