Name of thesis: The Kawa model in occupational therapy Aim: The aim of my thesis is to translate the basis of the Kawa model, to explore its application and evaluate the experience with this model and possibilities of its use in the Czech occupational therapy practice. Method: In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with the issue of the role of culture in occupational therapy in the context of the cultural background of the Kawa model, circumstances and motives of its origin. Further on I particularly aim at the translation and interpretation of the basis of the model needed for its use in practice.
