Periodical press in Kolin region during the period 1945-1948

The bachelor thesis Periodical Press in the Kolín Region during the period 1945-1948 focuses on the changes of the structure of periodical press in the Kolín region after the Second World War. The first part of the thesis describes the geographic and demographic characteristics of the Kolín region, which helps to create a complex picture of the Kolín region in the first half of the twentieth century. In the second part, the thesis describes the periodical press in the Kolín region before 1945. The Kolín region had already been rich in periodical press in the second half of nineteenth century. In the period of the First Republic, the most significant part of the press structure was the press of political parties, second to that, were the periodicals of non-political organizations such as Sokol or tourists. During the Second Republic and especially during the Second World War the gradual cessation of regional press resulted in the complete destruction of its structure. In the third part of the thesis, the situation in the Kolín region after Second World War is described. The press of the left wing political parties was renewed and the press of non-political organizations stayed, however due to the lack of paper, never recovered.
