This thesis deals with leadership styles, which is one domain of a leadership. The thesis is written in form of literature review. The first part of the thesis focuses on approaches to leadership styles, which are divided into four directions: personality of a leader, behavior of a leader, characteristics of followers and their relationship with a leader and contingency theories. Within the frame of single directions there are introduced main theories and findings. The importance of these theories and findings is supported by a number of studies in most cases related to the effectiveness of each approach.
