The theme of the work is The historical occurence of large carnivores in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, Eastern Bohemia and Northern Moravia. This is a research work which contains five key sections. The first one deals with the development of the landscape, the ensuing sectors are dedicated to the respective species of carnivores. Namely, the brown bear (Ursus arctos), the grey wolf (Canis lupus), the lynx (Lynx lynx) and the wild cat (Felis silvestris). The conclusions drawn from the data obtained indicate proved presence from the sixteenth to the early nineteenth century.
