From sources to the relationship of Czech writers to Russia in second half of the 19th century: Julius Zeyer and Josef Holeček

The aim of this Bachelor's work is to describe the relationship of two prominent Czech writers to russian tsarist empire in second half of the nineteenth century on the basis of their visits in Russia. The author of the Bachelor'work focuses on the work with the primary sources, placed in the Památník národního písemnictví (correspondence in the fund Julius Zeyer, Josef Holeček and in the funds of recipients of correspondence) and with the secondary sources, mainly of literary character (Ondřej Černyšev by Zeyer, Zájezd na Rus and Ruskočeské kapitoly by Holeček). On the basis of analysis of the sources - with the emphasis on the sources of the primary character (correpondence) - the author focuses on personal experiences of both writing figures, their engagement in Russia and the opinion on local political events. It will be also take account on the way, how was the attitude of the writers to tsarist empire reflected in their own writings
