Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to show the roots, the causes and the most important events of the conflict between the catholics and the protestants in France during XVIth -XVIIIth century (including the principal representants of this religious fight). The first chaptre concentrates upon the coming of protestantism in France. It depicts the coming of protestantism in the surrounding countries, mainly in Germany, it is included in the thesis in order that the reader understood better this topic, because it's the German protestantism which is the origin of the French one.
