Support of Active Fatherhood in Nordic Countries

The thesis deals with topic of active fatherhood in Nordic countries - Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland. The phenomenon of caring fathers is introduced as well as the cooperation of Nordic countries in field of family policy. The aim of this paper is to inform about development of policies which are supporting caring fathers and help readers to understand them better in context of family policy changes in each country. The thesis also identifies factors causing differences in these policies and analyses their current state to compare their results. At the conclusion, there is a consideration of possible policy changes in Czech Republic inspired by best practices identified in Nordic countries; introduction of short paternity leave is suggested
