Tasks and status of Czech Television

8 Abstract of the rigorous thesis "Tasks and status of Czech Television" There are some problems with interpretation of the valid Act regulating the only public television broadcaster in Czech Republic - Česká televize and it was the main reason for my research. The thesis is composed of six chapters. Chapter One covers history of television transmitting in Czech Republic, including the main tasks and status of first public television broadcaster - the Czechoslovak Television (ČST). Chapter Two is subdivided into two parts. Part One describes existing public Czech Television as corporation and explains its main role as public broadcaster of television transmitting. Part Two deals with characteristics and aims of television studios according to up-to-date legislation. There is detailed description of the public service of Czech Television as a television broadcaster in Chapter Three. There as is also detailed analysis of the main tasks of Czech television as a public broadcaster and there is also history and up-to-date characteristics of the tasks according to valid legislation, including thinking over status of current television of public service and its role in the world.
