Plays of Gabriele D˝Annunzio

SYNOPSIS This bachelor thesis would like to introduce the personality of the Italian writer Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863 - 1938) with the particular interest on his dramas. It reflects author's work in connection with his biographical facts and it describes artistic and social influences across the author's literary career. Then, the thesis tries to reinterpret some persisting clichés about him and his writing (alternatively it tries to emphasize further unknown facts). The main part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of three dramatic masterpieces written by D'Annunzio, in which the characteristic, various influences and author's ideas about drama and theatre would be confirmed and demonstrated.
