Risks and their analysis during rescue at height and above free depth

The bachelor thesis firstly defines the risks of rescue operations at height and above free depth and then situates them into the Czech legislation. In the theoretical part, the equipment of a paramedic is minutely described and discussed. The specificity of such equipment and circumstances of its usage lead to risks which are analysed in this bachelor thesis. Several real-life examples are stated for better illustration of risks that may endanger a paramedic and a patient. In the practical part, three risks are selected, verified by experiments and further commented on. The research, using semi-structured interview with paramedics-climbers, provides data which connect both parts of the thesis. The thesis has three goals. Firstly, to find out which risks of rescue operations at height and above free depth are considered the most frequent ones by paramedics. Secondly, to measure the level of awareness of these risks among paramedics. Finally, to implement relevant precautions in order to minimise or eradicate such risks. The overall aim of the thesis is to offer the list of the most common risks and to provide possible solutions how to eliminate them
