The aim of the thesis is to assess space management of a retail unit and to propose a new efficient model. The selected retail unit for this thesis is Tesco store in Písek. Theoretical part focuses on basics of space management and tactics that are used by retailers to utilize space. At the beginning of the practical part is description of current layout of the retail unit. After the description can be found evaluated survey that was conducted on customers. Based on acquired data a new layout is proposed while also respecting retail unit's needs
