Statistical analysis of selected demographic indicators

This bachelor thesis deals with statistical analysis of demographic indicators of nuptiality and divorce rates in all the 14 regions of the Czech Republic in 2000-2015. The theoretical part is focused on basic characteristics of demography, history of demography in the world and in the Czech Republic, the sources of demographic data also focused on selected demographic indicators. For data analysis are used elementary characteristics of time series. In this work is analyzed the evolution of the average population, the number of marriages and divorces, the crude marriage and divorce rate, the average age at first marriage and divorce, duration of marriage and number of divorces per new marriage. The thesis describes the differences in development between regions in terms of marriage and divorce, and the causes and consequences of the evolution of these demographic indicators. All data for statistical analysis were obtained from yearbooks published on the website of the Czech Statistical Office. The results are illustrated using graphs and maps for better clarity
