This thesis focuses on the issues related to supervision in medicine, possibilities for evaluation of the supervision and available evaluation instruments. The role of supervision in medicine and other care providing areas is discussed. Particular emphasis is on the occupational characteristics of medical nurses in retirement homes. This thesis also mentions context of clinical supervision abroad, especially in Great Britain. In research part of the thesis author studies the benefits of supervision in relation to the length of employment and experiences with supervision in particular functions (supportive, managerial and educational).
