The Thesis is divided into two parts, Theoretical and Experiential. The Theoretical part examines factors, which can influence nurse's position in society. It is nurses themselves, which participate in the reputation of their profession by behavior, education, professionalism and by the level of provided services. The influence of media society and social perception are other factors. Change of nurse's position during the time in the Czech Republic and comparison Czech and foreign nurse are discussed too.
