Rakovnik altar

Bachelor thesis entitled Rakovnik's altar deals with four both sides painted panels, which formed wings of the late gothic altar in the church of St. Bartholomew in Rakovnik. It aims to create a monograph as a basis of further research. The thesis generally describes the historical context, the city Rakovnik and the church of St. Bartholomew. It subsequently describes the panels, gives characteristics of the authors of the altar and the basis of their art. All this is set into the contemporary context of panel painting. The work captured the movement of panels and their restoration. The important parts of the thesis are original graphic material, basis iconography and trace analogies
