The school chronicles in Dolní Povltaví

This Bachelors thesis examines school chronicles in the region of Dolní Povltaví, from the 2nd half of the 19th century to the 1st half of the 20th century time periods. In particular, results from the chronicles of schools in Odolena Voda, Klecany and Husinec - Řež. This thesis is divided into two sections, the first section focuses on the history of education from Marie Terezie's school reforms in the 1st half of the 20th century along with school administration in the same time period. Then I define school chronicles as a source, firstly, describing the history of writing chronicles and continuing with a view more focused upon school chronicles. Finally I describe the region of Dolní Povltaví and the history of schools of which chronicles I worked with. In terms of the materials used, I compared data contained in chronicles, of which related to the school itself, the teachers and the pupils.
