Language and style of Czech translations of Émile Zola's novels

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the comparative analysis of the Czech translations of Émile Zola's novels. The first chapter presents naturalism as the literary movement and treats his major figures. The second chapter contains theoretical basis which deals with process of translation putting emphasis on Czech and Slovak translation theories. The third chapter is focused on the analysis of the Czech translations and tries to define critically the translation solutions used by Czech translators. By way of conclusion, this thesis seeks to summerize the results of the analysis and offers their critical evaluation
