Carlo Goldoní's comedies

The abstract and key words The aim of the thesis "Carlo Goldoni's comedies" is a literally analysis of three comedies which belong into three different groups. The introduction is focused on Goldoni's period, i.e. 18th century. The second part describes the playwright's life and gives an overview of his most popular works. The subsequent chapters analyze each of the three comedies in detail. The first one is dealing with Il Servitore di due padroni (The Servant of Two Masters) which is influenced by Commedia dell'arte. The second comedy, La Locandiera (The Mistress of the Inn) is devoted to the character's comedy. The last one, La Bottega del caffè (The Coffee Shop) represents typical example of the comedy of ambience. The closing chapter is focused on the evolutional tendencies of Goldoni's dramatic production.
