Benefits of Cooperation of Mother Centres with the Municipalities: Mother Centres and their Part in the Creation of Civil Society.

This diploma thesis deals with the question of mother centres, their significance in civil society and evaluates the cooperation between mother centres and municipalities, in which these centres operate. This thesis includes definitions of concepts as family, role of the family, and status of women in the family. It describes the role of the state in relation to the families and family policy in specific region. In this diploma thesis is stated what the meaning of mother centres, how they are formed and how they influence civil society. Within the empirical part of the thesis I have tried to assess the activity of the selected mother centres, their promotion and their cooperation with the Network of the mother centres and their cooperation with the public sector institutions. This diploma thesis contains the results of investigation in the municipalities as well. In the conclusion of the thesis there is evaluation of the position of the mother centres in civil society.
