Reconcile to Death

This bachelor's thesis is focused on people's attitude to death. What death really means, whether it is a complete demise of human organism or is it only a termination of the body and a departure of the soul to another unknown dimension. It describes how people perceive the soul from the beginning, what was their imagination about the after-life. Every age and culture had and has its religion, which has their way how to handle death. In this thesis I present several attitudes of natural religion in different cultures and ages, which considered death as something natural but not ultimate. I also describe perception of death according to The Tibetan Book of the Death, which acquaint in detail oneself with what comes after death and what happens to his soul. The mostly mentioned religion in this thesis in relation to death is Christianity. Christianity has rather different point of view on death, it comes with something that has no comparison. My goal was to demonstrate how people face death, which is ultimately definite for everybody, from the beginning. What helped people before and what can help them to resign death. Where they can source strength from. Every religion shares the opinion that people can influence their death and their future after death through the attitude they have to life. It turns out..
