The Abstract The dissertation "Division of Housework from Gender Perspective" is concerned with housework and its division among members of a household. In the opening chapters definitions of the terms gender and housework are provided. In the following parts of this work history and various concepts of housework division and different economic approaches are emphasized. The involvement of particular members of a household as well as the situation of families with children is described. The influence of education on the division of housework is also demonstrated.
