Hanuš Karlík 1850-1927 ABSTRACT This BA thesis presents the life of Hanuš Karlík, an important Czech sugar industrialist. It focuses on his personal as well as professional life and his achievements in associations and societies of sugar industry. It was these achievements that put him in charge of Czechoslovakian sugar industry once Czechoslovakia had been established. The thesis also puts his life into the historical context of development of sugar industry in Bohemian Lands in the second half of 19th and first quarter of 20th century.
