Population development in the north-west border of the Czech Republic since Second World War to the present (focusing on the period 1991-2008) Abstract The aim of this work is to affect population trends in the northwestern frontier to try to bring the inpact of geopolitical changes in the demographics in this part of the Czech Republic, as well as the effect of long- term economic and socil desparities. For this reason, it is also described regional differentiation od the various parts of the border. Own analysis of population development in focused on two periods, 1961- 1991 and 1991-2008, which is described and analyzed the evolution od demographic patterns and geopolitical context in the second period also sociopatologic phenomena. The work also includes an outline of future population development
