EU Policy related to state aid in the field of media (especially focusing on broadcasting and film production in the Czech Republic)

Bachelor thesis European Union Policy related to state aid in the field of media (especially focusing on broadcasting and film production in the Czech Republic) deals with the state aid to audiovisual media in Europe. It is focused on state aid to public service broadcasting and cinematography. The thesis describes the European Union policy in this respect which is mandatory for all member states. It analyses the legal framework for the state aid to public service broadcasters and cinematography. The thesis is concerned especially with the criteria that have to be met for the state aid to qualify for the exemption from prohibited state aid, which distorts the trading conditions and competition in the European common market. It furthermore assesses legal framework defining the state aid to public service broadcasting and film in the Czech Republic. The thesis summarizes state aid in the Czech Republic in the context of the European Union and other European countries
