American and Czech Conception of Information Policy - Analysis and Comparison

The purpose of the thesis is a comparison of the US information policy and information policy of the Czech Republic and its specific features after 1989. It defines key aspects, which they form the character of information policy both countries. The work contains comparison of the basic act for information policy in the US - Freedom of information Act with the act from the Czech republic. The thesis describes implementing new technologies in the society, dissemination of electronic access to information, development of global information infrastructures, creation conditions for the liberalisation of the telecommunications. Furthermore, the thesis concerns also topics about safe internet for children, support computer literacy, development of e-Government and broadband. In conclusion It considers main different features of information policy in both countries
