Diploma thesis Transformations of the European Welfare State under the Pressure of Globalization focuses on transformation of social policies in European countries which are caused by globalization. The thesis considers welfare state in the broader sense of the human rights. It assumes that the welfare state have played important role not only when protecting the social rights of an individual but also regarding the economic and political stability of the society. While analyzing the relations of globalization and welfare state the thesis relates to the theory of decomodification and related Esping-Andersen's typology of the three basic welfare regimes.
