This work analyses seven New Testament books labeled usually as the General Epistles (Jam, 1Pe, 2Pe, 1Jo, 2Jo, 3Jo, Jud). The General Epistles are analyzed from the point of view of the Church. The analysis is provided thematically with the intention to distinguish common and special topics related to the particular General Epistle(s). The topics covered by the work are: addressees of the General Epistles, traditions that are discoverable in the books (Jewish, non-Jewish, "Christian"), social context of the epistles, structure of the Churches related to the General Epistles, internal and external difficulties they were coping with.
