Burnout and awareness of it among workers in the helping professions

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of burnout and its linkage to the helping professions. The goal is to determine whether the performance of helping professions is riskier than the performance of non helping professions and if there is an awareness of the risk in helping professionals. The theoretical part is devoted to burnout in terms of its definition, causes, course, consequences, prevention and intervention. The theoretical part explains the concept of helping professions, too. The empirical part focuses on examining the degree of awareness of burnout among workers in the helping professions and non helping professions. Furthermore it examins their awareness of prevention and intervention and the perception of their own profession as being at risk
