The main theme of this work is dance in the Ancient Greece, its kinds, forms and evolution during the time. The reflektion of the dance on the red-figured vasessis dicussed, first the types of the dancing figures on the Attic red-figured vasvases and second a summary of the scenes with dancing figures descending from Magna Graecia and their position in the production of the red-figured vases on the localities in South Italy and Sicily. The close parallels exitst between the Attic vases and those from Magna Graecia. If theSouth Italian vase painting doesn't follow Attic motives, it finds other interesting expressions.
