Our goal was to assess new trends in surgical treatment, nursing and implementation of these techniques into the praxis. Reasearch is to give information about average hospitalization time after particular types of procedures, about the lenght of insertion of the Redon drain, postoperative complications, postoperative inflammatory complications, postmastectomy pain syndrom and lymphedema. There are enclosed two casuistics: the first one - about the pacient who underwent sentinel lymph node biopsy and second one about the patient who underwent axillary dissection. This study informs about the possibilities and advantages of the new surgical approaches from nursing point of view..
