History and present of nurses' professional organisations in our country

This dissertation gives an overview of establishing the nurses' professional organizations and their development in the Czech Republic from the past to the present day. The first chapters are dedicated to the events that were closely connected to the formations of the first associations. The next chapters are dealing with the work and efforts of these associations to improve the standard of the nursing profession. The rest is describing the work of nurses and their associations during the war, after the war and during the communist era until 1970. The last chapters continue to describe in detail the structure, organization and work of our biggest and the most important professional organizations, as it was Česká společnost sester and nowadays Česká asociace sester. The aim of this project is to describe the organizational work of nurses in context with the given time period and pointing out the important events relating to nurses and their profession. I collected the data and information by using the information technologies and the literature available.
