The Czech intermediate schools in Hradec Králové in school years 1938/39-1944/45

The paper deals with the topic of Czech secondary educational institution falling into the scope of school years 1938/39 and 1944/45. It is also concentrated on this level of education In the final period of "the first republic", as well as in the era of"the second republic" and most of all on the period of nazi occupation. The work lS related to specific Czech secondary educational institutions providing general education in Hradec Králové in the time range mentioned above. Events in the town with overlapping into other places throughout Eastern Bohernia and the rest of the country / protectorate are depicted in individual chapters to put the life in school into broad connections which represented contemporary atmosphere. The core of the work is focused on grammar school and another grammar school for girls which are situated in Hradec Králové and became the general grammar school during the school years 1941 - 1942. In these sections the author of this paper describes the events in individual institutions. Moreover, the statistical point of view is presented as well, e.g. the quantity of pupils who attended the school, the change of number of pupils within years, the structure of students according to their religions, places ofbirth, mother tongues (nationalities), and citizenships
