Professionally provided support for students with visual impairment at universities

Universities in the Czech Republic are taking more and more responsibility for the quality of the education of their visually impaired students. Not only are they provided with basic and specialised services but study support centres with a special infrastructure are also being established. The level of the particular services and their range, however, differ - very often substantially - at various universities. This thesis, therefore, seeks to answer the question concerning under what conditions the system of study support for this target group of students arises and what particular supporting study activities it brings. In the theoretical section of the thesis information is collected as to what topics are being covered in the literature that is commonly available and what these sources actually reveal to social workers involved in the field of study support. Apart from that, individual study support centres are mapped in detail: their origin and mutual differences, as well as their contribution to both students and professionals
