A writer's diary as a genre (Diaries of Polish writers Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Leopold Tyrmand and Witold Gombrowicz from the year 1954)

The thesis is focused on diaries of Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Leopold Tyrmand and Witold Gombrowicz from the year 1954 and tries to reveal genesis and structure of these texts. In the first part are presented several problems, which are connected with theory of a diary and autobiographical literature - the relation between empirical author and subject in the text and cathegories of narrator and hero. The second part is aimed at the situation of described authors mainly in the year 1954, function of peritexts of both author and editor and the problem of two versions of the Leopold Tyrmand's diary. The last part is focused on analysis of chosen diaries, the construction of the text, the view of the hero and the reflection of the text itself. The thesis is based on comparison of three various diaries and tries to reveal different approaches to the genre diary
